We are thrilled to welcome the amazing Melissa Gamal to Caravan of Dancers 2025.  She is an internationally acclaimed Egyptian-style dancer, instructor, and choreographer based in Toronto, Canada. Known for her elegant movement quality, deep musicality, and cultural authenticity, Melissa is one of the most sought-after performers and educators in the global Oriental dance community. She is the founder and director of Ya Amar Dance Company & School and has toured extensively, teaching and performing across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. Melissa’s style is grounded in the rich traditions of Egyptian dance, with a refined contemporary edge that captivates both students and audiences. Her dedication to continued study in Egypt ensures her work reflects both respect for the roots and excellence in artistry. We are honored to welcome her to Caravan of Dancers XI.

Musicality in Motion – Practicing Interpretation Through a Classic Song Workshop:

This workshop focuses on developing refined musicality and expression by working deeply with a classic Egyptian song. Dancers will learn how to listen beyond the beat, exploring phrasing, emotional nuance, and instrumental accents, to create movement that feels organically connected to the music. Melissa will guide students through interpreting melody, rhythm, and mood, while offering elegant combinations that bring the music to life with grace, depth, and authenticity.
